About

We build things
meant to last.

A holding company born of a simple conviction: that Africa’s land, and its people, can produce the finest in the world — and deserve to be seen that way. We build the ventures that prove it.

This company began with a daughter of Africa who went home, saw what was possible, and decided to build it. That is still the whole idea. Every venture we create is a way of proving that extraordinary things can come from the places the world overlooks — and of building lasting value where it’s needed most.

What We Do

A house of
agricultural ventures.

Turay Agri Ventures builds and operates independent companies across agriculture and the food and beverage world. Each venture stands on its own — with its own brand, its own market, its own roots in a specific place.

Our heart is in West Africa, where this company began. But our reach is global by design: we source from the world’s finest estates and carry what we build to markets everywhere — so that the value, and the recognition, can flow back to where it started.

Today, that includes a rice farm in Liberia and a luxury coffee house sourcing single-origin coffees from across the globe. Tomorrow, it may include ventures we have not yet imagined. The category will grow. The roots will not.

Our Mission

Three commitments,
one company.

This company was born from a desire to help rebuild — to see Liberia, Guinea, and the whole of Africa prosper. That desire became three commitments we measure ourselves against at once. Not one at the expense of another. All three, together, in every venture we build.

01
Help Africa prosper

We started here because we saw a need. We invest in the communities behind our ventures — jobs, training, infrastructure, and opportunity — beginning in Liberia and extending across the continent. Our success is measured not only by what we produce, but by what we help rebuild.

02
Prove what’s possible

The world’s finest agricultural products deserve the world’s finest brands. We exist to show that African land and African hands belong at the very highest level — and to hold every venture we build, wherever it operates, to that same belief.

03
Build for generations

We are not building to flip. We build ventures designed for permanence — companies with the patience to do things properly, and the intention to still be standing, and still giving back, generations from now.

Why We Do It

“Africa does not need to be saved. It needs to be seen — and built alongside.”

We don’t believe in charity as a business model. We believe in commerce done right: ventures that create real jobs, real skills, and real pride in the places they operate. The goal was never simply to sell what the land produces. It was to prove what the land — and the people who tend it — are truly capable of.

A Note from the Founder

“I am the child of this continent. When I saw the gap between what was and what could be, I couldn’t look away — so I chose to build.”

Turay Agri Ventures was founded by Mariam Turay — raised in Chicago by a Liberian mother and a Guinean father. When she spent time in her parents’ countries, she saw both the extraordinary richness of the land and the work still left to do. The Liberia Rice Farm was her first answer to that need: a way to help feed a nation, create jobs, and begin to rebuild.

That same conviction now runs through every venture under this name — and through a larger hope: to see Liberia, Guinea, and the whole of Africa recognized for everything it is capable of producing.
